About Me
Biography
I am an Associate Professor in Software Engineering at the School of Computer Science, University of Leeds, UK. I have over 20 years of experience in telecommunications and computer engineering, with a research focus on next-generation information architectures, 5G/6G technologies, and future Internet alternatives.
My research explores design, softwarization, virtualization, self-organization, orchestration, and programmability of converging information and communication technologies. I am particularly involved in advanced network architectures, smart city development, and digital monetization approaches.
I served as the Chief Architect of the NovaGenesis Future Internet project (2008–2024) and contributed to the architecture of the Brazil 6G Project. I have also contributed to Future Internet initiatives in South Korea and participated in the initial discussions of the Brazilian National IoT Plan.
I am the author of "Novos Renascimentos," a book covering hundreds of technologies and their impacts on society. Since 2018, I have dedicated myself to futurism, helping institutions position themselves towards futures of human values supported by technology.
